Protector of the Port of Ibiza
A 14th century watchtower stands on a rocky cliff, guarding the entrance to the port of Ibiza. It was part of a network of defensive towers that were built along the Ibizan coast to protect the island from pirate attacks. These towers, known as “watchtowers” or “defense towers”, communicated with each other using smoke and fire signals, alerting the population in case of danger. Today, it is a characteristic place to visit by bicycle.
